Proud of Our Past, Committed to Our Community

Events

 Community Events
At the South Baymouth Community Development Association (SBCDA), our events are more than just dates on a calendar—they’re opportunities for neighbours, seasonal visitors, and friends from across Tehkummah and Manitoulin Island to come together, celebrate, and support the projects that keep our community thriving.

Why Our Events Matter
Every fundraiser, community gathering, and awareness campaign we host is designed with one purpose: to strengthen the social, cultural, and economic life of   South Baymouth and Tehkummah Township. Whether it’s a summer festival, a heritage preservation fundraiser, or an information session about upcoming community projects, your participation helps us make real progress toward enhancing life in our community today and for the future. By attending our events, you’re not just showing up for a good time—you’re investing in the future.

SBCDA organizes a variety of events throughout the year. From BBQs, bake sales and silent auctions to celebrating key milestones lie the 50 th Anniversary of the    Chi Cheemaun ferry and more, these activities promote our community while raising funds needed to:
 -Beautify and maintain our public spaces
 -Support local festivals and traditions
 -Advocate for community improvements
 -Preserve the cultural and natural heritage of South Baymouth

Your support—whether it’s buying a ticket, volunteering, or simply spreading the word—helps turn these initiatives into reality.

Bringing Awareness to Local Needs
In addition to fundraising, our events shine a spotlight on the projects and challenges that matter most to our residents. Our gatherings provide an open, welcoming space for sharing ideas and shaping the future of our community. When you join us, you’re not only staying informed—you’re helping guide the direction
of South Baymouth and Tehkummah Township.
